About Sree E-Waste Recycling
We buy, collect and responsibly recycle electronic waste across Chennai — from a single old laptop at a doorstep to a floor of retired IT assets at a corporate site. The business has been trading since 2003, operates under the trademark 'Redit Eco Recycling', and works out of two collection centres: our head office in Perungudi and a second centre in Velachery.

■ Who runs it
Founded and still run by Vignesh
Vignesh started the business in 2003 and it has stayed under the same ownership since. Bulk and corporate enquiries are handled directly rather than routed through a sales layer, which is the main reason a site survey can usually be arranged within a couple of working days rather than a couple of weeks.
That also means there is somebody accountable when a collection goes wrong. If a slot is missed, a weight is disputed or you were unhappy with the crew that came, the complaint reaches the person whose name is on the business.
- One named point of contact for bulk programmes
- Our own staff and vehicles, not a subcontracted crew
- Authorization details shared before award, not after
What we actually do
Three things, and they overlap. We buy electronic scrap outright and pay for it — computers, laptops, servers, mobiles, printers, televisions, batteries, air conditioners and mixed e-waste. We run compliance-grade disposal programmes for bulk consumers who need documentation as much as they need collection. And we destroy data on any device that held it, before that device leaves the building it came from.
- Door-step collection anywhere in the Chennai metro, free of charge
- Payment on the spot for scrap, weighed in front of you
- Certified data destruction logged per drive serial
- Recycling certificates and disposition reports for bulk consignments
- One-off clearances or a scheduled recurring collection
How the business is run
Collections are handled by our own staff and our own vehicles, not a subcontracted crew who happen to be available that day. That matters more than it sounds: for a bank or a school, the people walking through the building are as much a part of the risk as the material leaving it. The same team handles the weighing, so the figure you are paid on is the figure our own people recorded in front of you.
What happens to the material
Recoverable metals, boards and components are separated and channelled for processing. Data-bearing devices are destroyed before anything else happens to them. Hazardous fractions — batteries, CRT glass, capacitors — are segregated rather than mixed into general scrap, because that is the part of e-waste that does real environmental damage when it goes to a roadside dealer instead of a licensed handler.
Why organisations keep the relationship
Most bulk consumers come to us the first time because they need a licensed vendor for a compliance file. They stay because the second collection is easier than the first: we already know the site, the access constraints, the security procedure and the format their auditor wants the paperwork in. A recurring collection also stops retired equipment accumulating in corridors and store rooms while somebody decides what to do with it.
- Authorization details provided at evaluation stage, before award
- Multi-site clearances sequenced and reported as one consolidated pack
- Out-of-hours and staged collections where a site cannot be cleared at once
- A named point of contact rather than a call centre

■ About the business
Questions people ask before calling
Who is the founder of Sree E-Waste Recycling?
The business was founded by Vignesh and remains under the same ownership. Bulk and corporate enquiries are handled directly rather than passed through a sales layer, which is usually why a site survey can be arranged within a couple of working days.
How long has Sree E-Waste been in business?
Since 2003. The business operates under the trademark 'Redit Eco Recycling' and has worked with corporates, banks, telecom operators, educational institutions and government departments alongside household and small-business collections across Chennai.
Is Sree E-Waste a government authorized recycler?
Yes — a government licensed e-waste handler. We provide our authorization details on request, and we do so at evaluation stage rather than after award, because corporate and institutional clients normally need them in the empanelment or tender file before they can shortlist a vendor.
Where is Sree E-Waste located in Chennai?
Two collection centres. The head office is at Old, 46, Rajiv Gandhi Salai, Srinivasa Nagar, Kandhanchavadi, Perungudi. The second is at 14, Velachery Main Rd, Ram Nagar, Ramnagar South, Dhadeswaram Nagar, Velachery. Both take drop-offs with no minimum quantity during working hours.
How large is the Sree E-Waste team?
Over 20 on-ground staff handling collection, segregation and processing. Collections are carried out by our own uniformed staff and our own vehicles rather than a subcontracted crew, which is what makes a documented chain of custody possible in the first place.
Does Sree E-Waste work outside Chennai?
Our collection operation is built around the Chennai metropolitan area and both centres are in Chennai, which is what lets us commit to a 24 to 48 hour pickup window. For a bulk consignment outside the metro, call and we will tell you honestly whether we can serve it well.
