Book a Pickup

Terms & Conditions

These terms cover collection, purchase and recycling of e-waste by Sree E-Waste Recycling. They apply whether you are a household clearing one appliance or an organisation retiring a floor of equipment. If anything here conflicts with a signed contract or purchase order between us, that document takes precedence.

1. Quotes and pricing

Any price given over the phone, on WhatsApp or by email before we see the material is indicative. Scrap is priced on weight, composition and prevailing market rates for recovered metals, all of which move. The binding figure is the one confirmed after the material has been weighed and inspected. If the material differs materially from what was described — different quantity, different condition, contamination, items we do not accept — we will re-quote before proceeding and you are free to decline.

  • Indicative quotes are not offers and do not bind either party
  • Final price is set at weighing, in your presence
  • You may decline the final price and retain the material at no charge

2. Booking and collection

We confirm a collection slot when you book. Across the Chennai metro this is usually within 24 to 48 hours, but it is a target rather than a guarantee — traffic, weather, vehicle availability and site access all affect it. If we are going to miss a confirmed slot we will tell you rather than let it pass silently. Collection is free of charge anywhere in the Chennai metropolitan area.

3. Access and site conditions

You are responsible for providing safe access to the material and for any permission needed to enter the premises — building management approval, gate passes, lift access, security clearance. Our staff will not force access, disconnect fixed installations, or work in conditions they judge unsafe. Where equipment needs to be de-installed, dismantled from a rack, or brought down several floors, tell us when you book so the right crew and equipment are sent.

4. Weighing and payment

Material is weighed in front of you at the point of collection. For scrap purchases we pay on the spot, in cash or by bank transfer, and issue a receipt. For bulk consignments payment terms may be agreed separately in writing. We do not deduct collection or transport charges from a scrap purchase price within the Chennai metro.

5. Ownership — your warranty to us

By handing material to us you confirm that you own it, or that you are authorised by the owner to dispose of it. This matters more than it may appear. We cannot verify ownership of second-hand equipment on a doorstep, so we rely on your confirmation, and we may decline any consignment where ownership seems unclear. If material later turns out to have been handed over without the owner's authority, responsibility for that sits with the person who handed it over.

6. What we accept, and what we do not

We accept electronic and electrical waste: computers, laptops, servers, networking equipment, mobiles, printers, televisions and monitors, batteries, air conditioners, refrigerators and mixed e-waste. We do not accept medical or biological waste, radioactive material, explosives or ordnance, wet cell acid in loose containers, or general household refuse. If a consignment contains any of these, we will decline the affected items and take the rest.

  • Tell us in advance if a consignment includes batteries in bulk
  • Refrigerant-bearing appliances are handled separately — flag them when booking
  • Anything we decline is left with you, not disposed of on your behalf

7. Data on the devices you hand over

You remain responsible for the data on any device until it is handed to us, and we strongly recommend you remove or back up anything you need before collection. Where certified destruction is part of the agreed scope, our Data Security policy governs how that is done, logged and certified. Where it is not part of the scope, we make no representation that a device has been wiped, and you should treat it as if it still holds data.

8. Documentation

Every collection gets a receipt. Bulk consignments additionally get a recycling certificate, and where certified destruction is in scope, a data destruction certificate identifying each device by serial. Disposition reports reconciled to your asset register are produced where that has been agreed in the scope. Documentation follows the material, so a report cannot be issued for a consignment that was never collected by us.

9. Cancellation

You can cancel or reschedule a collection at any time before our vehicle is dispatched, at no cost, by calling or messaging us. We ask for the same courtesy in return and will tell you as early as we can if a slot has to move. For bulk collections requiring a dedicated crew or out-of-hours access, repeated cancellation after dispatch may mean we ask for the slot to be confirmed in writing next time.

10. Liability

We are responsible for damage or loss caused by our own staff's negligence during collection. We are not responsible for pre-existing damage to equipment, for data you did not remove where destruction was not in the agreed scope, or for losses that were not a foreseeable result of something we did. Nothing in these terms limits liability where the law does not allow it to be limited.

11. Complaints

If something goes wrong — a missed slot, a disputed weight, a damaged item, conduct you were unhappy with — call us on the number on this site and say so. We would far rather hear it directly than read it in a review, and a disputed weighing in particular is much easier to resolve on the day than a week later.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Chennai, Tamil Nadu have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version published on this page at the time of your collection is the version that applies to it, and the last updated date is shown at the top. Material changes will not be applied retrospectively to a collection already booked.
